INTRODUCTION EREKA 2023

The development of a country is built on the constant creation and advancement of knowledge and much of it relies on the creativity, innovativeness and discovery of knowledge through research approaches. Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is taking proactive steps to organise the EKSPO REKACIPTA UniMAP 2023 known as EREKA 2023 based on the field of research, innovation and commercialisation. It is hoped that this program will help researchers to realise their dreams and at the same time, contribute to new knowledge in the respective research areas to create a creative and innovative generation of the future

Objective

· To encourage researchers / inventors to showcase their innovations
· To recognise the need and ability of researchers to engage in lifelong learning to build up their own career.
· To increase networking and collaboration among researchers.
· To support the nation’s advancement through research and development activities in science and technology.
· To gather researchers/inventors with possible collaborators and investors together

EXHIBITION FORMAT

EREKA 2023 participants need to explain about their invention/innovation by using a poster. The judge will evaluate the invention/ innovation based on the poster, video presentation (YouTube URL) or other related documents that are used. A certificate of award will be given based on the results from the judges.

CLUSTERS

An invention/innovation may be classed under either one of the following clusters. Participants need to choose a cluster that suits their inventions/innovations best. The clusters are:

i.        Digital Technology, Electronics & IOT’s
ii.       Biotechnology, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals & Health
iii.      Chemical, Advanced Material & Plastic
iv.      Machinery & Equipment
v.       Foodtech & Agriculture Technology
vi.      Social Science, Business & Teaching Innovation

PARTICIPANTS

Open to all students and staff in various higher education institution in Malaysia including Polytechnics, ILP, IKBN, IKM, KV, Community College, IPT & IPTS.

i) Best Invention Award for Each Category
ii) Best of the Best Award, Best Award 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place
iii) Certificate Award (Gold/ Silver/ Bronze) & EREKA 2023 Medal Award
iv) Special Award for Best TVET Award & BEST TCH Award

1. Registration form must be submitted using the Google form EREKA 2023 from 31 January 2023 until 3 March 2023 (before 12pm)
